McAfee: During the month, a number of e-mail scams threatened e-mail users. Two of the most notable types of relatively new spam messages included e-mail soliciting donations in response to the Haiti earthquake and Chinese spam offering Russian mail order brides.

The paper also highlights some successful efforts to combat spammers and the “ham” (legitimate e-mail) related to Haiti’s earthquake.
