InformationWeek: For the second quarter of 2012, VMware reported revenues of $1.12 billion, or 69 cents per share. That was one cent higher than analysts expected, and it marked a 22 percent increase from last year. Profits totaled $192 million, which was 13 percent less than in 2011. “Despite the tough market conditions, we achieved record quarterly results in total revenue, license revenue, and non-GAAP operating income,” boasted Carl Eschenbach, VMware’s chief operating officer.

The company is predicting $4.54 billion to $4.63 billion in annual revenue.
