PCMag: More bad news for struggling smartphone maker RIM: BlackBerry customers in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) reported an outage early this morning. Acknowledging the problem, the company tweeted, “Some users in EMEA are experiencing issues with their BlackBerry services. We are investigating and apologize for any inconvenience.”

Later, RIM confirmed that all services had been restored.

Many observers saw irony in the fact that BlackBerry service went down the same day that Apple released the iPhone 5. “BlackBerry outage on the day the iPhone 5 is released? Coincidence or Steve Jobs still working from the other side?” one Twitter user joked.
