MercuryNews: At Google headquarters in Mountain View, Calif., work is progressing on more than $120 million worth of construction projects. Most notably, the company is building a “Google Experience Center,” where it will showcase its products and services in a 120,000-square-foot private museum. The Experience Center will not be open to the public; instead, up to 900 VIPs, customers and other guests at a time will be invited to tour the facility.

Public records reveal that Google is also building a lab to test a new “@home” product that will stream content to household devices. In addition, it’s modifying another lab for “Project X,” a top-secret initiative said to be spearheaded by Sergey Brin.

In all, Google has been working on renovating 800,000 square feet of space in recent months.
