Google Fires Back at Bing With ‘Knowledge Graph’

PCMag: Google has unveiled a new “Knowledge Graph” feature on its main search engine. In addition to providing a list of links related to a particular search term, Google will now also provide facts related to that term. For example, a search for a famous author might return facts about that person’s birthdate, birthplace, books written and death. “We’re in the early phases of moving from being an information engine to being a knowledge engine, and these enhancements are one step in that direction,” said Google’s Johanna Wright.

Last week, Microsoft’s Bing search engine began rolling out a new “snapshot” feature, which is somewhat similar to the new Google Knowledge Graph.
