Mashable: Just one day after Amazon introduced its $199 Kindle Fire tablet PC, RIM has dropped the price on its Playbook tablet. Best Buy is now selling the 16 GB PlayBook for $299, the 32 GB version for $399 and the 64 GB version for $499.
HP’s TouchPad sold very well after its drastic price cut; RIM might be hoping its price cut will have the same effect.
