Demand for enterprise mobile apps is alive and well. According to the Pew Research Center, almost two-thirds of all Americans own a smartphone, with 59% stating they use their mobile apps frequently throughout the day. This is no exception for enterprise employees, with Gartner stating that demand for enterprise mobile apps will outpace current development capabilities five to one.
Following the current trajectory, smartphone users will only increase in number while expecting enterprise mobile apps that help them perform their daily work tasks better. With the enterprise mobile app market poised to become a $100 billion dollar annual revenue opportunity, enterprise employees will have more app options than ever to help them be more efficient and organized.
As such, we compiled a list of the top 20 enterprise mobile apps for you to take full advantage of. We highlighted apps which are particularly well-known, functional and otherwise useful. Please bear in mind that this is not a ranking. These enterprise mobile apps are divided into categories and arranged alphabetically within each category.

1. Skype for Business
Skype for Business has all the same well-known features as the free Skype version plus extra business-oriented features. Starting from $5 a month, Skype for Business lets you call and meet with up to 250 people. Any conversations you start are encrypted and authenticated which gives an extra measure of security. The Skype for Business App is available for both Android and iOS.
2. Google Hangouts
Google Hangouts is a free, easy to use web and mobile based application which allows users to chat, call and virtually hangout. Google Hangouts sync well across a range of devices–a call started on your smartphone can easily be continued on your laptop. Google Hangouts is available on Android and iOS.
3. Slack
For teams of all sizes, Slack offers a well designed app which organizes messages by using channels, direct channels and direct messages. You can easily share relevant files and images with anyone you want. Slack integrates well with a variety of tools such as Google Hangouts and Trello. Slack is available for iOS, Android and Windows Phone (Beta).
4. Wickr
Wickr is a private and secure messaging app which lets you send files and messages with an expiration date. Wickr features peer-to-peer encryption, which is decrypted on the other user’s smartphone. Wickr does not have access to or store encryption keys on their end. Wickr is available for iOS and Android.
5. Box
This enterprise friendly file storage service promotes collaboration by letting you share password secured files with others. Last year, Box released a new capture feature for their iPhone app which allows you to both take and share photos with others using Box. Users 10 gigabytes of free storage data–the business plan starts at $15 per user per month for 100 gigabytes of storage. Available for iOS, Android, Windows Phone and Blackberry.
6. Dropbox for Business
Dropbox is a cloud storage service where you can share and store files. While you can get a free Dropbox account, Dropbox for Business is geared towards enterprise employees – you get 2 terabytes of space, unlimited file recovery and more. The Dropbox for Business app is available on iOS and Android.
7. Google Drive
Google Drive gives you 15 gigabytes of free online cloud storage, which doubles up as a great backup service. The Google Drive app allows you to access and share files wherever you are. It is a simple yet powerful tool that is available on both Android and iOS.
8. Evernote
To “capture what’s on your mind,” use Evernote to store and organize everything, from random thoughts to notes at a business meeting, in one location. Evernote syncs across all devices and makes notes easily searchable. You can find Evernote on iOS and Android.
9. Remember the Milk
Remember the Milk has given users a convenient place to manage their tasks since 2005. The app is easy to use and offers drag and drop ordering, subtasks, and colored tags. You can share lists easily with others and give tasks to others by changing the owner of a task. Available on iOS, Android, Blackberry 10 and Fire.
10. Trello
This enterprise mobile app fosters productivity by prioritizing and organizing work tasks and projects through boards, lists and cards. Trello works as a digital corkboard by giving you an easy to understand and visual representation of what projects are being worked on, and who by. Trello can be downloaded on iOS and Android.
11. Asana
This well known project management system offers an all-in-one experience by organizing tasks into projects, adding due dates, and voting for tasks with a heart. Projects and tasks can be tracked and team members held accountable for their work. Asana allows you to send and share files easily, as well as integrating with other tools, such as Slack. Asana can be found on Android and iOS.
12. Basecamp 3
Basecamp is an all-in-one collaboration tool that allows multiple users to work together on a project. Basecamp facilitates communication with message boards and ‘campfires, letting you chat with others in real time. Basecamp is available on iOS and Android.
13. Todoist Business
Popular with millions worldwide, Todoist offers a free plan as well as a business plan which costs $28.99 per user per year. Todoist is a powerful task-management that lets enterprise users plan projects, as well as tasks, and assign responsibilities. There is an activity log, labels and filters as well as the ability to attach comments to specific projects (for the premium plan) – all which is secured with bank-standard SSL encryption. Available on iOS and Android.
14. Workfront
Workfront positions themselves as a work and project management software for marketers. It allows a variety of roles with different permissions to keep tasks on track. Workfront offers enterprise grade security that keeps data secure. The Workfront app can be downloaded on iOS and Android.
15. GadgetTrak
This security app is notable because it can track the location of a stolen device as well as trigger a loud alarm from a remote location if lost or stolen. GagetTrak can completely erase data on your stolen device, store and encrypt contact numbers and photos in a secure data center as well as stop any modifications to your device once tracking is activated. GadgetTrak is available for iOS, Android and Blackberry.
16. LastPass Premium
LastPass Premium is a paid password manager that offers protection for an unlimited amount of passwords and notes. For $12 per month, LastPass Premium offers multi-factor authentication and unlimited syncing capabilities across mobile and desktop devices in addition to storing passwords and notes. LastPass Premium can be found on iOS, Android and Windows Phone.

With free, public WiFi easily available, VyprVPN offers a way to stay safe online. VyprVPN supplies a speedy, secure connection to the internet by encrypting your information which helps fend off potential hackers. Using VyprVPN can help prevent throttling because of the encrypted information it sends to your Internet service provider. VyprVPN starts at $6.67 per month and available on iOS, Android and Windows.
18. Camscanner +
Camscanner + costs $4.99 per month and lets you scan a variety of documents, which can then be converted into PDF or JPEG files. The app offers advanced editing features such as the ability to annotate scanned documents as well as placing customized watermarks on files. Camscanner + can be downloaded for iOS, Android and Windows Phone devices.
19. Docusign
Docusign cuts out the need for a scanner by letting you sign all of your documents virtually. Docusign is particularly useful for sales professionals as it enables them to prepare and send documents to customers, giving them an easy and seamless experience. The app is available on iOS, Android and Windows Phone.
20. PrintJinni
In short, PrintJinni gives users the ability to print documents wirelessly bypassing the need to connect to a computer. Particularly useful for those on business trips and in unfamiliar territory. PrintJinni is available on iOS, Android and Windows Phone.
