JOHANNESBURG, South Africa — Oracle is expanding its global presence in the cloud computing market by introducing its first cloud region in Africa.

The Oracle Cloud Johannesburg Region is intended to meet “the rapidly growing demand for enterprise cloud services on the continent,” according to Oracle this month.

Oracle expects its Johannesburg cloud region to “boost cloud adoption across Africa” and help companies there “achieve better performance and drive continuous innovation.”
