HOUSTON — The new chief technology officer at Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) is a former leader in VMware’s cloud services unit.
HPE hired Fidelma Russo as CTO, according to the company in September.
In the C-suite role, Russo will lead the innovation agenda and technology road map for HPE and manage the design and development of the HPE Greenlake edge-to-cloud platform.

Russo brings more than 30 years of technology leadership, spanning cloud services, machine learning (ML) and analytics, global IT business services, servers, storage, networking, backup, and infrastructure.Most recently, Russo served as SVP and GM of the Cloud Services business unit at VMware.
Previously, she held senior leadership positions at Dell EMC, HP, Iron Mountain, and Sun Microsystems.
Russo also currently serves as a director of SBA Communications and sits on the Audit Committee.
She holds a B.S. in electrical engineering from the University College Cork, a master’s degree in computer science from Boston University, and completed the Internet of Things (IoT) Executive education program at MIT’s Sloan School of Management.
