OneTrust Rolling Out Platform to Automate Public Records Requests for Government Agencies

ATLANTA — OneTrust is helping government agencies automate the processing of public records requests they receive.

The solution, the OneTrust Government Records Request Automation platform, was developed to automate the records request process — from request intake to data discovery and redaction and the secure delivery of information to the requester, according to OneTrust, the maker of a platform for data privacy, security, and governance, in July.

Government agencies are subject to “more open records requests now than ever before,” OneTrust said.

OneTrust’s government clients are looking to “modernize their workflows” for quicker and less resource-intensive public records responses that “create trust and transparency with constituents.”

OneTrust said its Government Records Request Automation product offers several features: dynamically triage records requests; artificial intelligence (AI)-driven data discovery and classification; automated data redaction; a secure communication portal; audit trail for compliance; and support of the U.S. Federal Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and Privacy Act as well as state and local public records requests (PRR).
