ICANN Glitch Reveals Personal Details of gTLD Applicants

PCMag: The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) has admitted that it mistakenly revealed personal information, including addresses and contact data, for those who applied for new generic top-level domains. ICANN temporarily disabled the portion of its website where the information appeared and immediately fixed the problem. We apologize for this oversight,” ICANN said. “The information in these fields was not intended for publication.”

Back in April, ICANN reported a software glitch that allowed applicants to see personal information for other applicants. As a result, it temporarily suspended the application process, extending the deadline for applications into May.
