CNN: The website WikiLeaks has released a slew of new U.S. diplomatic cables, among them documents which detail Apple’s efforts to fight piracy in China. According to the reports, Apple recruited staff from Pfizer who had previously helped to crack down on fake Viagra sales in China. However, despite three years of effort, Apple’s progress has been slow, partly due the Chinese government’s unwillingness to step up enforcement of anti-piracy laws.
Other cables recently released by WikiLeaks may contain the names of informants, potentially putting those people in danger.
