DigiTimes: Acer and Asustek had hoped to ship 200,000-300,000 ultrabooks by the end of 2011, but unnamed sources say the two will likely ship only about 100,000. High prices are likely to blame for the slow sales. Prices for the Acer and Asustek ultrabooks start around $1,000, about $100 higher than the price of the Macbook Air.

Analysts have predicted that ultrabooks could account for 10 percent of the notebook market by March or April of next year, increasing to 20-30 percent of the market by the end of the year.
